The daughter of James A. and Rosetta Crump, Rose Lorraine Crump began her earthly experience February 24, 1947, and transitioned to a spiritual one Wednesday, January 17, 2007.

Rose attended P.S. 40 elementary school before going on to graduate from Jamaica High School.  IT was around this time Rose met Lawrence Earl Daniels.  Their friendship would take root and blossom into a marriage that has lasted over 40 years and resulted in the birth of two sons, Larry and Eric.

Her extensive commercial training resulted in her performing considerable responsibilities as a keypunch operator.  Yet, it was her entrepreneurial spirit that led her to parlay a passion for crocheting, coupled with and unparalleled expertise for sewing, into a home operated business.

Rose’s talent for crocheting, knitting and sewing placed her talents and skills in great demand by those who realized the quality of her work and commissioned her to make wedding dresses, prom gowns, choir robes, and other specialties.  Her line of clothing came to be called “Rosel.”

Just as Rose knew her way around the sewing machine, she was equally adept at stitching together the lives of those who came to her for advice and direction.  Her depth of patience coupled with a genuine caring made her someone many could visit and receive help smoothing out the rough edges of life.  Her bright smile and kind heartfelt words warmed the souls of those she came in contact with.

A supportive wife and mother, an empathetic friend, her loving spirit will always be with us and continue to illuminate the way for those she has left behind.  We give pause to remember the exquisite and radiant Rose that touch our lives in innumerable ways and will always have a special place in our hearts.

Rose leaves to cherish her memories and spirit; her husband Lawrence;sons Lawrence II and Eric; grandchildren Telly, Terrell, Imani, Aaliyah, Tori and sisters Dorothy Crump and Frances Story; brothers Albert, Robert and Walter Crump; mother-in-law Lossie Daniels; sister-in-laws Winell, Delma, Daisy, and Shirley Crump; brother-in-laws Ahmad and Norman; daughter-in-law Melissa Daniels, nephews and nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
